Catalysts have been practiced in a variety of textile applications. They are used in the textile industry because they stimulate reactions, operate under more moderate conditions, replace harsh chemicals, easy to control as well as recyclable.
Shape selective catalysis: Zeolites are worked as catalysts in petrochemical industries for the cracking of hydrocarbons and isomerization.
Energy Processing: Petroleum refining causes intensive use of catalysis for alkylation, catalytic cracking (breaking long hydrocarbons into smaller pieces), naphtha reforming, and steam reforming. Catalytic heaters produce flameless heat from a supply of fuel.
