Gregory S. Herman received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside, and his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Hawai'i at M?noa. He held senior positions at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Hewlett-Packard, and Sharp Laboratories of America. Currently he is Professor and Head of the School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU), James and Shirley Kuse Chair in Chemical Engineering, and Director of the Ambient Pressure Surface Characterization Laboratory at OSU. He has published over 120 publications and has over 65 patents. He is a Fellow of the AVS.
